We have used 1000Lt IBC pods in the past as Static Water Supplies, they are common and when linked together can form a valuable resource.
Often over looked, restricting the water supply to your pump will cause cavitation and premiture failure the pump. The size of your tank outlet is critical and should be no smaller than the inlet of your pump. We recommend a 50mm or 2 inch brass outlet and matching ball valve.
We recommend having a dedicated outlet for your pump and using camlock fitting on your suction hoses.
Fire services have standard fittings that allows them to connect to your tank, ensuring your tank complies will make protecting your home easier for them.
The fire services will need to draw water from your water tank, to prevent cavitation and speed up the process they have standard requirements.
The NSW fire services require a 2 inch metal tank outlet with a nickel plated brass ball valve and a forged Storz 65 fitting.
The CFA requires a metal outlet a minimum size of 2 1/2" with a valve and CFA 64mm 3 threads per inch outlet.
CFS requires metal fittings & valve & a Storz 65 outlet.
MFS requires a Storz 150 outlet.
Tasmanian Fire Services requires a 2 inch metal tank outlet with a nickel plated brass ball valve and a forged Storz 65 fitting & Cap.
