Note - Electricity is unreliable during a bushfire crisis.

Tank Pump System

A DA Rainmaker attached to your tank pump and hung off your gutter will produce a water barrier between your home and the fire front.

Your water tank pump may be unrealiable in a Bushfire as the electricity system may fail.

DA Rainmaker System

Protect your home during an ember attack

Protect your home during ember attack with a DA Rainmaker.

  • attach a splitter to your tank pump outlet
  • attach a 12mm x 15M hose
  • attach the DA Rainmaker

CONNECTING A HOSED DA RAINMAKER TO A TANK PUMP

Connect the hose to the tap.

The method of connecting to the tap depends on the number of DA Rainmaker you have. Ideally you need a valve controlling the flow of water to the sprinkler.

  • One DA - connect the hose directly to the tap
  • Two DA's - add a 2 way splitter to connect the hose
  • Three or four DA's - add a 4 way splitter to connect your hoses.

Please ensure you order the correct size for your tap.

ie NSW standard is 1" BSP, VIC standard is 3/4"BSP

Connect the hose to the sprinkler

We have a variety of connectors to attach your hose to your Rainmaker.

  • Brass quick connect.
  • Hoselink
  • or none (you use your own)

Please select the fitting that suits your hose,

Position the sprinkler

The Rainmaker was originally designed to simply hang off your gutter, we generally place them evey 6 metres.

If you have gutter mesh then a 50mm slit is required to fit the sprinkler, we generally cut this using a cutting disc on a 100mm offhand grinder. Mark the postion of the sllit for  easy location when needed.

We have also developed a range of products to make hanging the rainmaker easier.

  • Pole Adapter - used with a painters extension pole this adapter removes the need to climb a ladder.
  • Bolt on Mount - Screws to any verticle flay surface to provide a secure mounting pint.

Turn it on

Activating the sprinkler is simply a case of turning on the valve, having a valve controling each rainmaker allows for fine tuning. They don't need to be spinning flat out to do the job, larger droplets are best.

Your water source

Water Supply Type

 There are basically two types

  1. Independent Stand Alone Water Supply (HVHP) uses a water source boosted by an Engine driven fire fighting pump.
  2. Low  Volume / Low Pressure (LVLP) includes gravity fed, towns water & tank pumps.

Independent Stand Alone Water Supply HVHP

Setting up an Rainmaker System requires an independent source of water at high pressure. Our Impact Rainmakers use this water efficiently to protect a structure or resource. If you have a fire fighting pump then you should have a set of Impact Rainmakers to complement your fire hose. The Impact Rainmakers will automate your structure protection, allowing you to monitor for spot fires and flare ups.

Sprinkler to suit LVLP system

The DA Rainmaker spaced at 6 Metre intervals is your best option..

One Impact Rainmaker will work and continue to oscillate until the water pressure drops.
