During tank testing the
304 Stainless water tanks survived fire contact for 30 minutes without failing, corrugated steel tanks maintained integrity but the plastic lining failed above 65' causing water loss, plastic tanks failed when exposed to direct flame. A drenching sprinkler can reduce the heat and increase your tanks resilience.
Our sprinklers are designed with water efficiency in mind.

to work out the amount of water used simply multiply the Litres Per Minute of the sprinkler by how many you have, that will give you the system water usage per minute. We recommend having the capacity to supply your sprinklers for at least 1 hour, don't forget if you are on towns water you can top up your tank as well as the water spraying onto the roof will circulate back to your tank if plumbed to do so.
We recommend a dedicated 2 inch tank outlet to supply your fire fighting pump and a separate outlet for the fire services to draw water. This will avoid the need to interrupt the water supply to your fire protection system.
We offer three options for our fire pumps! The 2" Poly camlock includes a threaded camlock to screw into your water tanks shut off valve, If ordering a new tank ensure you get a 2 inch ball valve for fire protection. The Storz fitting connection will connect to the a RFS Storz 65 valve. the foot valve is best for a pool or dam.
Your fire pump is the heart of your system and should be protected. Our Pump Defender is a adjustable spray, cooling the area This reduces the risk of fuel vaporization and the chances of vegetation ignition by the hot muffler.
Your pump should have 3 to 4 outlet ports.50/2", 40/1.5" or 25/1" are the common sizes.
Our range of adapters include a shut off valve to reduce or close off the water pressure to the nozzle/sprinkler if required. we offer 25 Storz, 25 Camlock, 20 Camlock adapters
Our RTG System uses 20 Poly Camlocks.
The size of your pumps suction port dictates the amount of water your pump can push, any restriction will reduce the output. Our GX200 pump can have either a 1 1/2" or 2" inlet, the 1 1/2" hose is easier to handle and store but we recommend using the 2" for max pump output. We carry PVC and lay flat canvas fire fighting hose.

Brass Garden connectors are common and allow the use of already purchased equipment. German made Forged Aluminium Storz connectors are used by Australian Fire Services for a reason, they are durable and the best choice for use in heavy conditions, they are the most expensive option that we offer.

The spray from the sprinkler cools the outside and the water flow cools the inside of the hose protecting it from hot embers. We also use the Australian Made "Crusader Sabre" percolating lay flat rot resistant canvas hoses for our kits and recommend this hose for fire nozzles as the hose weeps water to protect the hose from heat and flames, these hoses are used by the fire services.
The hose diameters most common in fire protection systems are 25/1" and 20/0.75", these are readily available and are easily deployed and aren't overly heavy to drag around. We use and recommend 12/0.5" and 20/0.75 PVC Garden hose with our sprinklers as once set up there is little need to move them.

The volume and pressure of water required dictates the hose diameter. The longer lengths of hose should be larger diameter due to pressure loose by friction in the hose.
