BUSHFIRE ATTACK LEVEL - 12.5 TO 19

Radiant Heat Exposure - 0 to 19 kW per m2

BAL-12.5 - This is a low risk rating. It indicates possible radiant heat flux exposure at a maximum of 19kW per square metre and risk of wind-ignited embers and burning debris that could cause an ember attack.

BAL-19 -  This is a moderate risk rating with the same potential heat flux exposure as BAL 12.5 but with a greater likelihood of exposure. Similarly, there are no special requirements for the floors and subfloor, and the same construction requirements for the rest of the house with the exception of 5mm safety glass instead of 4mm.

Uninterrupted Water Supply

Having a stand alone water supply is a crucial consideration for your home  bushfire ember defence.  Towns water will fail or drop in pressure and cannot be relied upon during a bushfire.

A Fire Fighting Pump and a Static Water Supply (SWS), is the best option as it produces high pressure and flow which is required for a fire hose.

We recommend utilising all outlets on the pump by adding control valves, this way the water can be diverted to the inner, outer and fire hose as needed.
