The Double Arm Rainmaker is an effective component of a bushfire protection system, designed to work on low water pressure. It will continue to spin even when the pressure drops, ensuring reliable performance. One unit can protect a 15 Metre frontage, but by placing two approximately 6 Metres apart, you can create a more effective shield against hot embers, enhancing your fire sprinkler and water spray systems.

Important Information Fixed Systems

Arm Positioning

Isolate the copper from the Roofing Material

Angle of Install

The arm positions are critical to the performance of the fire sprinkler in a bushfire protection system. The head needs to rotate clockwise; otherwise, a failure will occur as the spindle will undo from the head. We could have used lock-tight on the thread, but that would prevent dismantling the head during maintenance of the water spray systems.

Angle of Install

Angle of Install

The head will rotate at any angle, and for optimal performance of your bushfire protection system, we recommend running the tube at the first row of roofing screws above the gutter and setting the heads at 45 degrees. Another option is to run the tube on the facia under the gutter while having the heads vertical, which can enhance the effectiveness of the fire sprinkler and water spray systems.

We recommend using an isolator to mount your copper tube, as this will help reduce galvanic corrosion, especially important when considering a bushfire protection system that includes fire sprinklers and water spray systems. We have Clic isolators in our store for this purpose.

The ability to take your sprinklers down from the gutter allows for easier maintenance if things go wrong, and packing them away at the end of the fire season prompts regular maintenance.
